How to use custom domain from 123-reg to your Blogger (Blogspot.com)

Many had asked the question, how do you use both version of your custom domain directed to your Blogger's blog.

Many had failed, even I when I did my domainseek.co.uk, as all instructions you find doesn't work.

Take a look at This WineStar.co.uk and www.winestar.co.uk

Now Here's How I did it:

1) Add a CNAME record on your 123-reg DNS, it should be www and Type : CNAME and the content should be ghs.google.com. <---- don't forget the full stop in the end or Blogger won't find your blog.

2) Then "important" delete the original www record, now your DNS setup page should look like this.
3) Go to "Web Forwarding" on your 123-red control panel, choose "Non-framed web-forwarding", any type in http://www.winestar.co.uk/ replace "WineStar.co.uk" with your domain. Like This :
4) Now wait about 24 hours, and the change your BlogSpot setting to this domain, and you now should be OK. You can ask me more questions if you still can't get it.

.com against .co.uk and .blogspot.com visitors

After exchanging my .blogspt.com to a .co.uk and then .com

I came up with the conclusion, than using a custom domain gets you better web page ranking in google.

my results are

.blogspot.com is giving me virtually no visits, .co.uk much better performance, but still not much improvement as it's a local TLD, and gets filtered out in other countries.

Visitors are .com 5 times .co.uk and 10 times using blogspot, this is being .com is world wide and it's highly ranked by search engines.

My advise to bloggers is to ditched the .blogspot as soon as you find a suitable .com name.

Also remember the .com should have keywords relevant to your site, or your adsense will show up inrelevant ads.

Barclays dumb customer service stopping me buying domains

Had my Barclays Card disable today, had to call up and got forwarded to the fraud department, The women asked where did I bought a theatre movie ticket in January 2008? I said forgot, then she told me I fail the security question.

How Stupid, who's going to remember a one off small transaction half a year ago?

So I had to go to the bank and sort it out, wasted my whole lunch hour, just to be told it was to confirm a few tiny amounts payments, I asked what's the problem, they said it was just random security check.

Well at least it is OK now, I can continue registering and filling up my domain addiction.
